For those of you who have not seen this, I think its one of the best documentaries on the history of kiteboarding ever. I could not find it on the web anywhere so I've put it up as a torrent. Grab a beer or some popcorn and enjoy!

We get onshore winds in Ganges sometimes but always light. I'm at Nitinat lake for about 70 days of the spring and Summer then Mui Ne, Vietnam for 6 months of the year.
For the d00d worried about the site and file.
This is posted on The Pirate Bay, not unknown site, in fact its #13 most popular site worldwide hits. Anyway its an .avi file and impossible to contain any malware or threat. Worth watching, I posted because its new to me and wanted to share the stoke. Cheers |

Are you teaching up at Nitinat or something? Not exactly a short trip from Saltspring. That's awesome that you get to spend 6 months in Vietnam! |

I'd say its reasonably close, it takes me 1 hour 45 minutes from the time I get off the Crofton ferry. Its always a good drive. I'm there ususally Sunday-Friday and I've gotta work Saturdays on SSI. I just got IKO'ed last week so I probably will be teaching (officially) this coming season but my kiting is still primary. |

No, he's right... it's a well known site for movie downloads. He's totally legit... definitely from Saltspring... Its cool to have someone on the forum from that area. Welcome to the forum Flybykite. By the way, do you ever kite at spots like Island View beach? I have family on the island, near Goldstream, so have been wondering where some good kite spots might be around there. Is the road to Nitinat still a washboard hell? I've only been there once, back in the 80's to windsurf, and it was pretty rough. |

I normally wont go to island view but cook street in Vic is where the bigger winds run. Or check out gordons beach near sooke. Nitinat can crank consistantly in the summer so I mostly stay there. The road is not so bad these days, they grade it regularly, can get a bit silly on the long weekends though. Check out our local forum, wind model, webcams for local spots. www.bigwavedave.com perhaps you know it.
Still a semi remote spot with 70 kites max on the water the peak weekends of the summer and in the spring I stayed an entire week without seeing anyone else.
Cheers mate, I'll check out oregon again sometime soon. Are there many kiters on the coast, say florence. |

You will end up with all the browser B.S. plug-ins that you don't want. Some you can't remove. _________________ AquaMan |

Just watched the vid today. Amazing to see how far the sport has come. Those huge bars and two-line kites looked scary! |
