Now that there isn't much to do until the snow falls, what gaming are people doing this fall?
I'm still rocking Starcraft 2 and Battlefield 3 on the PC. |

Counter-Strike:GO, Halo 4, Black Ops 2, and Assasins Creed 3 are what Ill be getting down on over the winter. Some BF3 mixed in there most likely still but that game is really annoying to me as its meant to be a team based game, with no in game chat, so unless you have people to team up and play with, its pretty pointless. _________________ I heart dangling |

Portal 2, Peggle, Little Big Planet (group play) and Uncharted....PS3. Zelda, Donkey Kong, Super Mario Sunshine, Wii fitness games, Wii Dance anything..Wii. I thought about getting an Xbox, but my husband would not be pleased. _________________ Be kind to Kooks |

Start with the brand and type of CPU and GPU you want, and then just put it together from the highest rated parts on Newegg.com.
Don't forget to spend good money on a solid state disk, most return on investment in terms of performance. |

I just built a PC not too long ago, I started a thread about it on here somewhere if you want to take the time to look it up. At this point my PC is running 100% with no freezes or anything. I was having some issues when it was first built, but a bios came out for my mother board about a month and a half ago and everything is running smoothly now. _________________ I heart dangling |

WoW for me. Just can't do twitch or fps anymore for some reason. The new expansion is pretty fun too ...and if anyone is in to cards I started playing MTG and it's pretty fun and social. You have to brush your teeth and put some clothes on to play though.

If you're capable of building your own rig, Newegg.com is a good place to start. The reviews and ratings are very helpful as far as figuring out what is good and what works. Their prices are competitive and their customer service and shipping are awesome.
If not, then start with what type of games you're looking to play and shop pre-builts around that. MMO's you won't need to spend as much money, but if you're looking to play the latest and greatest FPS then you might need to drop some more coin.
-AMD is putting out some badass affordable chips now which can save you a few hundo right off the bat.
-Nvidia is my choice of GPU. (bang for buck and scalability)
-SSD's are dope for load times. (Plus a secondary HDD for all your other files and stuff)
-Win7 FTW
-Don't get caught up in liquid cooling unless you're a bleeding edge kind of dude.
-Good case with good airflow.
-And don't forget about a good big ass monitor (I prefer 2). That alone will +10 to your entire experience

Yah as I said if you have a lot of disposable cash. Personally i'd build my own from new-egg and frys, and spend the rest on kite stuff. |

Thanks for the reply’s guys, I'm into BF3 and I want to run it on full bore settings, it's been around 6 years since I built my last rig....alot has changed!!
Just watched some dude on youtube going through the steps of building a current spec gaming machine and it reminded me how easy it is to do, I think I'll go down this route, nothing better than the satisfaction of it all, saving a few $$ here and there helps too.
I did find this website that I thought was really good for specking a machine out..
https://www.ibuypower.com/
Not going fully water cooled, just the CPU I recon, the options are endless since I started reading up on the latest and greatest.
Thanks again,
Borginsteiner. |
