Or of at least the season. The water was so low today I almost walked from the Wunderbar to the HR sandbar. The Wunderbar almost made it to the green navigation buoy. We had a new visible sandbar 300 yards NW of Wells Island. All this with super-steady 10 meter winds. It was so steady my kite-buddy and I were playing tag with our kites, trying to touch the other rider! Did I mention 67 degrees, It can't be November, another epic day in paradise!

Yeah, it was pretty amazing. About a half dozen of us at the Event Site. I couldn't believe the air temp/water temp combo... warmer than most of the sessions I had in June.

Me thinks Wunderbar is a very dum name. It is the White Salmon Sandbar. The beach / kite spot is Underwood Beach.

Agreed...

Wunderbar's not it.

White Salmon Sandbar, Underwood Beach... is more like it.

Looks like Mini-Sandganistan out there.

Sella won the contest 2 months ago with Wunderbar, his description: W for white salmon, under for underwood, bar for collected sediment in the river. Then after a great session like yesterday and today you land your kite and exclaim," that was Wunderbar!!!" Except I got blown off the river with my 9 meter today! Great swells!

Great now I'm guilty for shitty names! Wunderbar requires a follow-up definition if that's how you reference it so it does lean towards slang. Wink

That area is White Salmon and I can't remember it referred as anything else....except maybe "Mecca" by that newbie long hair dude who practiced flying that small 3-strut Airush for about what seemed like the entire summer before trying a water start. You know the guy I'm talking about......he would make drag marks with both his feet across the entire Sandbar like he was chalking a football field. Nice guy.....I think he won the "safety first" award this summer. Wink

Anyway, Moondogger...you kite that area 100 times a year so call it whatever you want amigo. It's been about a year now since the Condit Dam breach so it's cool she's still around pumping out swell and butter for your daily dose.

Sella, you picked a great name, it slips off the tongue easily, just two syllables and makes sense. I hope you got out this week, old man winter shows up tomorrow!

How about the Rock Creek sandbar? Another option for beginners in Stevenson.
