I am a new kiteboarder in Miami, FL. I weight 175 pounds. I was wondering if a 13M BEST Yarga would be to advanced of a kite for a beginner?
Also, I have the option to buy a 12M Crossbow.
Any suggestions would be great.

The Yarga was a good kite in it's day but the crossbow will be easier to learn on as it will relaunch easier. That yarga has to be at least 5 years old, more likely 6 or 7. The crossbow may be same vintage. Kites have come a long way since then. Shop around a bit and see if you can find something a little newer.
Lots of info and advice on here on the forum if you use the search function.

Find yourself a used Kahoona. Starting with the right kite will make a huge difference in your progression.

Hi ,
Welcome to kiting .
This question is so common among newbs .
There are so many good products that will suit your needs .
Have you taken any lessons ? A good place to start before buying your own gear and much safer . You'll be taught using new or newer gear . Your instructor will help you as they see your abilities first hand . Here we can only assume .
Go to some popular kite spots around you , talk to others and see what is being used . You may want to kite waves mostly or not , this would change what kite you buy .
Many kiters have several kites and boards , I do as we have such varied conditions in our area . Water and snow .
Your area may have consistent winds so you can get away with one kite and board for now ! Again the best is to take lessons , honestly . It'll save you money . You really shouldn't buy anything older than 2 years , my opinion and I've read many others say similar or even "only buy new !"
Have fun , we know you will as this is probably the best sport on the planet !
