I saw one of these in Hood River this summer at kite beach and curious who makes them? I'd like to try for for SUPing, and sun protection. It had a hood, oversized, more sweatshirt like than a tight fit wetsuit. But made our of neoprene, I think. thks |

There are a few manufacturers making them right now. Underwave ( disclosure, I represent them), Hyperflex, NPX, and ION are the ones that I have seen. I have one of the Hyperflex jackets and for doing any kind of activity it's almost too warm. But it saves my bacon when I'm teaching on a jet Ski in cold weather. |

i think for SUP'ing it would be purdy good. I have one i think from Hyperflex. For kiting, the hood would fill up with water and pulled back on my neck. Didn't choke me, but wasnt very comfortable. Is great for keepin' ya warm when you need to be wet'ish. it wouldnt do much to keep you safe in cold water for long though |

these are pretty popular up here for fall kiting in seattle.
npx hoodies don't have a zipper in front, but they do have a slot for spreader bar
while they do slow you down when swimming and/or body dragging, they can give you that extra warmth that gets you on the water.
just make sure you dress for success in the event you do spend more time in the water when its colder now.
these hoodies are good in a pinch.

Awesome picture Stringy! NPX should pay you for that one. Top shelf as always!
