I'm going to be in the Waldport area for some family crabbing / fishing etc. on Saturday.
Looks like storm wind out of the South. Is the bay totally messed up on a South or is it doable. Other threads indicate SW works, and I can see that from the sat. image. I'm thinking launch on the north end.
Thoughts?
I know Siletz is an option too, but everybody's going to be at Waldport. |

Needs SW wind direction and outgoing tide, launch by the Bayshore motel. I used to windsurf it alot back in the 90's, but basically gave up on it for kiting as it tends to be gusty.
Anymore we just kite off the open beaches during southerlies as the wind is alot steadier and the launching and landing is easier with the wide open sand beaches. |
