Bronson Beach was the label put on the extremely gnarly windsurfing launch by the pilings at the west end of the new sand bar. We would launch there when there was literally nowhere left to park at Swell City or The Hatchery. Windsurfing used to be a big deal in the 80’ and early 90’s. When you launched a windsurfer at that spot you needed to be tough like Charles Bronson.

Lewis and Clark named it - "Canoe Creek." In 1841 - Charles Wilkes called it "Cathlatates River." The Indians called it - "Nikepun."

Kook Bar North is probably more descriptive
