I had a solo session at Rowena yesterday, it was great! There was no one to land me, so I landed my kite in the water in the cove below the typical launch spot. In the process, my bar go tangled with a submerged log, and my lines dragged through that green, goopy Columbia river slime-weed as I was getting everything put away. I did my best to clean up my lines in the river, but they turned lime green.

When I got in my car this morning, it smelled like an outhouse. It was because of the slime residue on my lines. So, I had a bright idea! I took off my lines and coiled them up, zip-tied them loosely in a hoop shape, then ran them in the top rack of the dishwasher.

They came out like new! Sick brehhhh.

*** Note, I am not reccomending that people do this. It worked for me, and I thought I'd share.

Good idea. I saw you out there yesterday. Sometimes I get in my car and it smells like total ass. Stagnant Columbia water always makes quite the intoxicating cocktail of dying salmon heading home, Hanford enrichment run-off, coal dust and wetsuit pee residue. Mmmm..mmmm....good.

Good to know your lines are dishwasher safe. Laughing hope the heat didn't destroy
their strength-- here's a mod: put them in a garment bag for the washing machine.

I was worried about the heat too. I used a low-heat setting without a heated dry. I checked the lines mid cycle, and they were warm, not hot. The processing temp for most plastics is pretty high, and I'm not worried about it.
