Will Wednesday be a good day on the north coast? 9m is my biggest kite. If so where? Ft. Stevens? I am a newbie to kiting the coast/ocean but I can handle 5/6m days in the Gorge without a problem (prefer them).

From Crysta on iKite

"The North Coast should end up with upper teens to near 20"

Your 9m should be good. Ft Stevens is great. Park at Ship wreck, or drive on the beach. You have a lot of space!

Or park in parking lot D and do downwinders to ship wreck and hitch hike back to your car.

So much fun.

Beware. You will have sand everywhere Very Happy

What time of day is the best wind? Early or late afternoon? When does it typically begin to die off?

USUALLY the best wind is noon - 5.
Forecast for today:
Oregon Coast: Northerlies trend down, maybe low 20’s for peaks Central to South, unless the southerly push from CA makes a move early. The North Coast should end up with upper teens to near 20 for prime time, then fade into night. WNW swell 5-6 ft. at 11 seconds.

Should be another round of lighter conditions today on the strip. Yesterday was just the Landlord and I (14m and 3' ), I guess two other guys were out later. Currently the marine layer has burn off to 100% skies, should be a perfect day on the coast once that wind kick in this afternoon. Last day before it fizzils out, come smacks some. Text message

The wind today may be a bit light for a 9 meter around Fort Stevens today. Depends on your size and your board size. If the wind is not strong enough when you get there - you can head south a bit and try Manzanita. The wind is generally stronger there.

Ended up being a fine day at Ft Stevens. Some of the cleanest waves I can remember out there today. Cheers to all that rallied and got the goods.
