Had an awesome day at Sauvies today. Got a nice 2 hour session in. My leash decided to tell my my session was over by cutting loose after a fall. Fortunately I wasn't too far from shore so I was able to swim it back in.
Big thanks to FlyDunes for commandeering a SUP and paddling out to my kite to bring it back. Also thanks to the other kiters on boards that tried to rescue it as well as steering the boat off before it managed to snag the lines in its prop.
I guess the lesson here is if you have taken a few falls on the water check the quick release on your leash to make sure it's still firmly "closed". _________________ Captain kook; always wrong. |

It was my pleasure. I've seen you rescue plenty of folks and boards.
I hope that the kiter who tried to pull your kite in by hand is OK! One of the lines caught him when your kite tried to relaunch and it cut pretty deeply clear across the back of his hand. scary looking wound! _________________ Lets FLY |
