Maybe it is just me, but I have never experienced this much strong wind in the gorge for July and Aug . It is usually wildness in May and June and tame in Aug and Sept. July can go either way. I have been windsurfing/kiting here for 28 years and never used my 6 meter so much in July/Aug. The first ten days of Aug I was on my 6 meter five times! Maybe this is the new normal!!!! Today was EPIC!

I looked at my Captains log for July. I kited 20 days, a new personal record! The log showed there were 31 out of 31 kiteable days. Some late day thermal pushes made it happen, like we will get today. Except there ain't no stinkin sandbars! What's up with that?

11m on North Coast yesterday. Fun, fun. Down winders all afternoon.

Sand in every crack though Evil or Very Mad

Sure is nice to have our Gorge spots with grass pump and dry.

On these 100 degree days my mistress Mariah shows up at 5:16 for another evening session at the hatchery. My wife is not jealous, she knows it is a hour fling, with some strings attached( to my kite), but I am always true to her. 11 out of 12 days of Aug. the wind they call Mariah knocks on my door, I answer, but who is counting !

Excellent 6m conditions at Manzo today (Cliff was very dialed on his 4.5 rpm). Lots of overpowered 7 & 8m kites out for short sessions. Punchy waves everywhere, fun, fun, fun !!

I heard there were several near accidents on the beach. Some newbie with a death wish put up an 11m C kite. The sand was blowing 6" deep (30mph+, just brutal conditions on the beach) and someone thinks an 11m is OK, WOW !!

Yeah manzo was crazy windy today. I was on a 9m and wishing for a smaller kite, but overall an awesome day.

Manzanita was insane all weekend. Had good sessions Friday and Saturday and then tore my 9m to shreds 5 minutes into my session on Sunday. Sad end to an otherwise awesome weekend.

Yeah, crashed the kite coming down from a floater and it got steamrollered by an outside set. Made for a lovely swim.

Almost had the same thing happen to me on Friday. Kite made it out in one piece but the waves had inverted it a few times and it started to spiral around after I pulled my chicken loop. All the while I was experiencing the wash+dry cycle in the outer breaks.
