This was a sweet day of kitesurfing! 12m the whole way. Todd started off the expedition under the Gate, getting the first taste of San Francisco summer wind. Halfway down, Todd came back and boarded the boat. Captain John hooked up and kept haulin! It got windier as we went past Alcatraz but then got too light to pass under the bay bridge. For a while, it was almost too much kite, but since we going downwind, the boosts-on-command were awesome! A great late summer day in the bay!

Great vid, I plan to be in San fran soon, how far upwind is the GG? I hear it takes local knowledge with tides, wind to make the journey from Chrissy?

Yes, local knowledge can come into play. But in with good conditions, (consistent winds, ebb tide) it's not too bad of a journey upwind. It's maybe a 1/2 mile upwind... Surfboards/raceboards, of course, make it easier to get through any lulls or holes. Keep an eye on the bay traffic while out there.

Hit me up if you want a guaranteed session with boat support.

Get your kiting on! Here we are with 2 months left of summer winds. Get out there and ride!

WOW! This looks like just what I've been searching for. I worked 38 years on bridges, and 29 as a worker/manager on the Tacoma Narrows suspension bridge in Tacoma, Wa.
One of my life dreams has been a kite session beneath the GGBr. Boat support seems like a good option for out-of-towners who don't know jack about the conditions. I will be in contact.

I am just wondering where to find pricing as I would love to kite under the bridge and get a photo to prove it.
