Great looking shots... forgive the obvious question, but where is that?

Are those taken from a GoPro or did you put some other camera up on your kite?

EXIF says HERO2, but I could see Jim rigging his 5D2 or 7D up there with an 8-15 f/4 and intervolameter or PocketWizards! Thumb's Up

adam I don't know how you figure all that stuff out! haha
yes it was taken with a hero2 using the new wifi remote expansion pack. it works great 23 meters away, allowing full control of the cam from the wrist module. I can do anything with the remote that can be done with the two buttons on the camera, even erase the card if I wanted to. what I like about this is the freedom to turn it on or off, preventing the camera from getting too warm and causing the lens fog.
for this application, I made a mount that attaches to my leading edge and holds the camera in a specific position.
I really think this is a cool way to capture a session by filming others and achieving that overhead up close in your face heli shot.

btw this beach is known as jetty island. only big kites are allowed here.
it's located up here in Everett, just north of seattle by about a half hour. it's prevailing wind is a thermal that can deliver light but steady winds whenever its hot in the city. it's kind of like our version of sauvies, but there are no agro nudists stealing kite gear haha
