It's possible - temperature gradient will be there in force. I was thinking of hitting up the Ponds at Lot D early and then maybe Jones later if it goes.

super cool place. I had a lot of fun, my fiancé found it a little challenging conditions wise (we both got blown off the water on too big of kites).

We went over to the slew on the WA side and had some fun. Does the current move W on both sides of the river? We found it was a little bit more challenging gaining ground upwind on the WA side.

beautiful place.

I think that the current is fast in the merchant channel (between the green and red buoys). easier to gain ground. also, there is a decent amount more wind on the wa side. if your kites were too big, that would add another wrinkle.

I think a good wind day at jones is about as good as it gets anywhere. Glad you got the sesh, Wish i could'a rolled out

The tide was actually coming in all afternoon and didn't turn until evening. The currents in the shipping channel and the within ~150 feet of Washington shore are very fast. It's very difficult to catch your board when in the swells on the Washington side during an outgoing tide. Conversely it is very difficult to get to the ponds when the tide is coming in Sad

Very sweet session today. Started lit on the 9m and later hopped on bigger kites and hit the ponds. Rode until the sun was all the way down.

Awesome day.

I showed up about 5:30 and was surprised the beach littered with 8 M kites. I guess it was going hard earlier today. Wind had died down a bit by the time I got there so I put up my 12 M. Had a great session up at the ponds.

Did my first one-handed start while rescuing a board in the swells by the WA side. Strong wind, outgoing tide and swells makes it difficult to get back to your board at times. Kited over with board in hand and dropped board off just down wind ensuring board was retrieved.

After a couple hour session 3 of us headed back to the beach. On the way back we were intercepted by some windsurfers that launched from the WA side. It was not real clear what they had said, but something about they had a kite or something.

Not sure what exactly was going on we decided it would not be a bad idea for me to launch my waverunner and see what the windsurfers were trying to tell us.

When I get over there I see a small group trying to relaunch a 10 M kite but it didn't look like it was going to go. A kiter ran into some trouble while heading down wind back from the ponds back to the beach and couldn't get his kite back in the air.

We pack his kite and board on the waverunner and brought him back to the OR side just before sunset.

I don't really use the waverunner much but keep it hooked to my truck and take it with me. I have brought 2 kiters back from the WA side and retrieved a few boards. I figure if I have it I will just bring it just in case.

I think I should get some kiteboarding stickers and put them on the waverunner for every rescue made. lol

The pressure and temperature gradients are looking good right now.
