Been awhile since I've been on here. Was just wondering if there are any active Kiters around my area nowadays? I'd love to make some new Local kite buddies!

There are a few of us up here. The ones without kids seem to get out a little more than me, lol.

Theres still a few, winter is typically better and more active IMO. Summer is a little sporadic and not very dependable or predictable, a little more time spent chasing and hoping than I care for.

That is Eastern WA. summer kiting at it's best. Within 2 1/2 hours SW of Spokane there are whitecaps almost daily and nice camp spots so I realized years ago it was best to just spend your "search" time driving towards the Gorge.

Anyone know of any good open locations for snow kiting in Eastern WA? I only know of HR area and Camas Prairie, Idaho. I heard it is done local to where I am, though, I haven't seen anyone out...ever...

I'm always looking to fly. Just recently got my first depower and am looking for some guidance. Hit me up on here if you want to fly. I fly stunt kites too!

I am down in Lewiston ID. I have been playing with a FB 5meter kite and a Mountain board. For a couple of months. Looking into my first depower for this winter. I think there is endless posability for snowkitting. Some pretty high open country by Deary/Bovil. Also up by Grangville ID. So many places I want to try this winter. I would like to find some other people to kite with. I seem to be the only one in Lewiston. I also fly stunt kites. Revs and 2 stringers. Any one know of a good place to landboard around Moscow/Pulman. My field is pretty small here. Anyway if any wants to get together or talk about spots message me and I will give number. I thought about a craigslist ad to try to get a group together.

Welcome!

I usually hit up a few local places in Moscow, one of the fields of the UI campus (by Guy Wicks Field) is fairly large, but the hill on a SW/W wind can have some wind shadow...but works a majority of the time. Deary/Bovill area is pretty wooded isn't it? Maybe I haven't gone off from the main road that much. I haven't been down to Grangeville.... been Google Map scoping the area frequently though and watching the wind sensors. Also, I found some old threads on farmers and snowkiting and not very akin to damaging crops and such Smile Shoot me a message and we can swap emails.

I was in Sandpoint over Memorial Day weekend and some kiters were out launching from the city beach. They had drove up from HR tracking a wind storm. They say they get about 6 days in Sandpoint, usually spring and fall. Sounds like Great Lake type wind.

How sketchy of a launch is that? I've considered heading up that way to check out the lake on a windy day.
