In an effort to increase interest in/use of the amazing slider park by local riders, North Kiteboarding is hosting a clinic on Friday the 13th. We'll have Tom Court (and any other pros in the area) chilling on the sandbar dispensing advice and drinking beer. Come bask in their knowledge. Learn how to hit the dancefloor for the first time, or get some advice on nailing that tantrum off the kicker.

We will have some slider boards and boots on the sandbar for those of you who don't want to thrash your own gear/haven't made the jump to slider-friendly gear.

At 4:00 we will switch gears and run a non-pro competition. It's up to you whether you classify yourself as a pro or not, but if you've got an invite to the RoSham, this is probably not the event for you. Any pros are welcome to help judge/heckle the competition. There is a $15 suggested donation to enter the competition, but the whole idea of this event is to get more local/non-pros out in the park, so if you're strapped for cash, feel free to pay what you can, if you can. All proceeds will go directly to The Slider Project to help them keep the park fresh and awesome.

Entry in the contest earns you a sick custom hand (spray) painted jersey that is yours to keep, plus the chance to win some sweet swag. Grand prize will be a paid entry to the RoSham competition. All skill levels from slider newbies to ripping locals are welcome, but again, we'd like the pros to sit on the sidelines for this one.

Feel free to hit me up with any questions/advice. I'm stoked for this event and hope to see a whole bunch of you guys out there.

-Dan

Looks like the sandbar is still hiding just below the surface. We will be meeting for the clinic and the competition under the North tent on the little bit of sandbar at the foot of the Spit launch. Hope to see you all there.

I am planning on showing up around 2pm and representing the OG class! Full knee braces baby! Thanks for putting on what should be a definitely annual thing.

Thanks, Jon Malmberg

I had to work all day yesterday. I heard the clinic went well. The wind died in the afternoon. What happened to the comp? Maybe today?

Sorry for the delay... Been busy catching back up at the office and setting up for Rosham... The clinic went really well, but by the time we got the first heat organized the wind shut down so the contest didn't really go down. There is no planned reschedule at this point, but thanks so much to everyone who showed up. If anything changes and we can reschedule this summer I will post up here.

The bigger contest is underway right now. Head down to the sandbar any day this week to watch the pros killing it at rosham.
