Pepi, from the CGKA, and Liz, from the Port of Hood River, will be down at 7:30am Sunday morning setting up the new launch and landing zones.
Things should be ready to rock and roll before you've even finished your morning coffee and hit the Swap meet.
Just a reminder that this is a privilege and continues only until the Sandbar reappears with adequate launch and land room.
Also, next weekend is an exclusively reserved weekend at the Event Site for the CGWA Windfest Demo Day, so there will not be launch access from the beach on that Saturday or Sunday, sandbar or no sandbar, but the Marina and Spit are totally open for kiteboarders. _________________ [b:13763ca0d3]The CGKA is your advocate for Kiteboarding in the Gorge! Hello July! Thank you Liz Whitmore from the Port and CGKA board members.
For kiters Hood may be one of the coolest places to be this month. The level of talent riding around in the kiddie pool is ridiculous...and it's only going to get better as A4C and Ro Sham get dialed in. Good times.....come get some. |

What an absolute delight to be able to park, launch, and land at the Event Site. It was indeed one of very few options today.
Well Done aLl!
Thanks,
Eric and Family |

Incredible amount of traffic in and out of such a small site. We should all be proud of this, Hood River is OPEN for Kiting. Thanks All _________________ CGKA Member |

It was definitely crowded out there today. Big thanks to the handful of guys that were helping everyone launch throughout the afternoon. |

Well done boys, I was helping manage traffic at the Marina. All was well all around.
The Port has granted the authority to Port Staff to make a determination on whether the event site is opened or closed. Coupled with the new Waterfront Coordinator they hired, things should be a lot smoother in years to come.
If you see any of these guys running around town, thank them:

Shout out to the Port employee working the Event site parking lot. I left the Marina to go check out the chaos at the Event site. The parking lot FULL sign was up but he seen I had a parking pass, he let me in and I found a spot to park.
And checked out the crazinesss. Good Times.
Thank you Port of Hood River and Thank you CGKA.

Right on, if the only complaint is that it was "busy" then I'd say everyone is doing a great job. |
