It's a bright and sunny Monday morning (6/25) and the water levels are kinda high from all of the excess rain that we have had the past couple of mornings, so the Sandbar is in sliver-mode at the moment, leaving it at probably an intermediate to advanced style of launch for today and tomorrow.
Barring anymore excessive rain, we should see the sandbar rapidly return at the 32-330000cfs level, so your patience and understanding are appreciated and well recognized by the Port and Waterfront community.

Alternate launch and land locations we suggest are :

Hood River Sandspit -
The Original Hood River Kite Beach located just east of the Event Site and accessed via drivwaybehind the gas station and the dirt road out to the water.
Spit Host, A-Train, will be glad to welcome you and help give you tips on how to use the launch and advice on water conditions. This is a super quick launch access point during highwater.

Hood River Marina Beach -
This has been a primary launch for the slider/skim/butter crews and is the alternate launch for all kiteboarders during highwater or beach closures

Don't anger the kite gods by breaking the rules.

Bad launches result in bad accidents and this is why we work to obtain access at larger and safer areas for kiteboarders to launch and land.

There are no trees at the Marina on a high water day

Looks like the water coming out of The Dalles dam is forecasted to be around 355 KCFS on the 4th, and the outflow today was 410 KCFS, so we should see a Sandbar.

I'm getting my data from:
http://www.nwrfc.noaa.gov/stp/plot/stp.TDAO3.QI.txt (forecast)
http://www.nwd-wc.usace.army.mil/ftppub/project_data/daily/tda.txt (actual)
