There is a meeting today at noon at the Port of HR office. It is an opportunity to respectfully register complaints about the lack of launching off the grass when there is no sandbar. _________________ moondog |

I'll be there. Our family has not one, but two event site passes for kite access and it's a little frustrating to see so much open grass when there is so little sand exposed

Can we participate online, or some how send comments/suggestions online? I work Thursdays thru Sundays and can't attend many of these meetings, CGKA's as well, but would love to participate and voice my opinion. _________________ SAY WHAT YOU MEAN, MEAN WHAT YOU SAY |

Ditto. Noon meetings will never work for me either.
Did anyone attend the Port's meeting today that can post up if the Sandbar was respectfully brought to attention? It would be good to know going into tonight's CGKA 7:00 pm meeting @ HR News office. |

It was a good meeting and well attended. Many good ideas were brought up and we are working on a better, more flexible policy going forward. Unfortunatly the staff does not have the power to change policy before our next board meeting July 10. Hopefully the water will receed sooner than that.
We hear you and are working on a solution or solutions.
You can send a message anytime to Liz at the Port, email on the website.
It is good for kiters to express their concerns, anytime.
Thanks

yea, i was there and it was a civilized, organized and respectful meeting. Almost unheard of these days. People talked and listened and shared good ideas and it was great. The event site/waterfront access was a large part of the discussion and some very good ideas were presented and heard. Sounded like most of the bigger changes will happen next season but they are doing what they can for this season as well. The next time you see one of the folks on the committee you should thank them for there time and effort. and you should show up and contribute, if you can. |

Thanks Rich this is good news. The CGKA meeting tonight was optimitistic based on today's Port meeting so those guys are on it and echoed Knotwindy's recap of the meeting. I'll be emailing Liz the consensus of the 10 kite junkies I see at the Event Site daily is water level, not date stamp, determining traffic flow as one option. Anyway, whatever the best option is will come from more feedback to the Port so send emails and think of the 30 minutes it takes to submit your email could pay you back in hours of future water time instead of trying to rig a ball of spaghetti. |
