I can get up and ride upwind for the most part but not super confident yet. Any good spots to go near Pacific City?
Thanks! |

If you are looking for flat water I think sand lake at high tide from the island campground would work. If you are ready for waves you can go out at the turn around acess right over the bridge. |

Head North to Netarts Bay.
Drive along the gravel road on the North side of the bay until the road ends and launch there. Works good on a NW wind, but beware the strong current during an incoming or outgoing tide. Safest if ridden on a slack tide. Excellent butter smooth flat water at low tide too.
Cheers! |

Best chance to ride with other would be to head South to Lincoln City at Roads End park.
If it's windy, there will be kiters. It isn't flat water though. |

Siletz Bay south of LC..it's a great place to build your skills up. Hit Roads End when you graduate _________________ Mental attitude is more important than mental capacity |

Did anyone mention Whalen Island just north of PC? Is that what you mean by Sand Lake? Go into Clay Myers/Whalen Island state park and park in the day use lot. Walk straight west and it is the sweetest and friendliest little bay. Mid to high tide only, not much water at low. When you get good enough you can kite right out of the bay and downwind to Pacific City or at least to the north end of Cape Kiwanda. |
