The Big Soggy descended upon the south coast and poked a hole in many a foredune....Pistol, Elk, Hunter etc etc and hashed up 101 pretty well south of Port Orford.
The storm session streak of the last two weeks are something to remember.... serious kite-color-bleed going on down here
Looking forward to endless summer laps in the wave pool this season! stoked out of our minds
Here's the new playground at Pistol (photo courtesy of D. Miller):

Pretty, you are near Cape Blanco the western most point, plenty o wind down their.
I was touring the coast with friends from Astoria to Brookings and it was a beautiful perfect week till we got near Blanco, and we hit a raging wind storm. I was on point everybody following me, and I could barely manage 5 mph standing and stomping. Didnt have arain jacket just an emergency plastic poncho, couldnt hear a thing over that poncho getting shredded in the wind. My friends wife was going to meet us at the campground at Blanco and carry all our gear the next day, our last day, and we saw her about 20 miles from the campground and we were stoked to pile in the truck because of the wind and rain and we had made a wrong turn earlier in the day and added another 20 plus miles to an already long day. She just waved at us as she drove by and kept on driving to the campground, she new we were crazy hardcore and assumed we wanted to finish strong. It is a priceless memory for me, we were waving and yelling STOP! She just kept on driving....I am glad she didnt stop, not so much in the moment

Blanco blows!
The folks that wanted to put a golf course there this past year were a little out of touch with the weather in that locale.
