Absolutely. Fake. I know the European press swallowed this, but so what? The world press also reported a few years back that human cloning had taken place as well, and was accomplished by people with no scientific background. The press isn't that hard to fool.
Take a look at the mechanics. Even if the guy's strength to weight ratio was sufficient--it isn't--there's nothing to the wings that would result in lift due to flapping.
And more obvious yet--as Mark pointed out--there's no load on the "wings".
Other than that, pretty cool fake. Kudos for making the press look like idiots!

That was awesome. There was a bunch of engineer's saying they couldn't say for sure the video was faked. They showed the wings as being a rigid foil shape which explained why the loose material along the trailing edge made it look like there was no load.
The biggest mistake they made, was that in the first video from January. The camera man pans away from the wings just before takeoff (a common CGI technique), and when it pans back, there is a black square on the right wing that wasn't there before.
“My name is Floris Kaayk I’m actually a filmmaker and animator. I am now 8 months working on an experiment about online media,” Kaayk told the show, according to a Dutch-to-English translation in a YouTube video. Kaayk said attempted the hoax because “it’s everybody’s dream to fly.”
