Your windsurfer is Rob Warwick. He rips and is on the cover of the current Windsurfing Magazine...
I got some sick shots of him during the last evening strobe shoot... Hope some editor ends up liking the images...

He is doing a 540 Spock... Yeah, a full 540 flat rotation on an eight and a half foot long board with a 14 foot mast and 4.2m sail. Makes most kiteboarding moves look pretty simple in comparison. He also has a 900 pretty well wired too.
Guess you thirteen year old kids really don't know all that much after all... Its about supporting water/wind/wave sports. Now get off the internet and back to class...

Ian,
You have NO CLUE as too the difficulty of freestyle windsurfing versus kiteboarding do you??? Rob Warwick is a world class athlete who could pick up kiting and be at your level in about a summer...

Okay all respect to him and how much time it takes to master Windsurfing at that level (or any level), but I will be the sacrificial lamb who asks....

So why doesn't he?
Actually I find the super high powered launching off of swells or waves and flying 100ft horizontal type windsurfing the most impressive (to watch.)
The freestyle stuff does look really hard... but freestyle in any sport isn't supposed to look hard, its supposed to look easy but be hard.

Someday I hope to do that (360 Spock death grip or whatever) with my 19' Catamaran, talk about skill!!! But for now I'll just kiteboard. It is a Catamaran and a Wakeboard boat all in a bag!!!

Phillip,
Windsurfing at that level takes about 7-10 YEARS of dedicated and hard work/training. Rob does not kite because he is North Sails number one windsurfing guy right now, and makes his living as a full time windsurfer...
Trust me, they make it look easy in comparison to the average "really really good freestyle windsurfer". There is just some sick sick stuff going on these days in the freestyle windsurfing world, and chucking that much equipement around tends to be pretty difficult...
