Going to Taiba this weekend. Flying into Fortaleza. Taking a family of six. What is the best way to go? Rent a van? Taxis?
Best place to exchange dollars to real?
Thanks |

Use your credit card to take out cash at the ATM in Fortaleza....just make sure nothing looks suspicous about the ATM (like a hidden camera). You'll get ripped off on the exchange rate if you exchange dollars for Real at any airport, US or BR.
Not sure about taxis to taiba, but if you have a pousada already figured out, try asking the owner to arrange a ride. They can usually get a local driver to pick you up for half the price of a taxi at the airport. You can also take the bus for cheap. _________________ "all I need are some tasty waves, a cool buzz, and I'm fine."

Just returned. Best kiting ever. Steady and consistent wind. Perfect water temperature. Great waves. Fantastic food.
Do not rent a car. Get a taxi. Fortaleza to taiba in a sprinter van was 200 reals. About $120.
Rent a dune buggy. A must for getting around the beach, getting grocery, and exploring the sand dunes.
Get a local cook. Cheap and great source of culinary pleasure.
Getting a visa is a pain, but it is good for ten years. Get started early. |
