Sun Dec 11, 11 9:22 am OT: Bus from SJD to Los Barilles |

Has anyone taken a bus from SJD to Los Barilles? Where is the stop and what's the schedule? Is it the bus stop on the north side of the freeway where you see all the locals walking from the airport?
$90US for a cab ride seems a little over the top.

That is the way to do it!! I have ridden buses in the US, South America and Baja, and that was my number one best bus ride. I think it was like 20 bucks and I got a nice comfy seat with a TV. Plus, being up high you can see all kinds of cool seascapes and stuff you can't see from a car. Do it, you won't be disappointed. Then eat a huge lobster dinner with all the money you saved!!

Many years ago you would always need to get from the airport into San Jose del Cabo to get the bus to take you to Los Barilles... it did not stop at the airport

You have to get to the highway and take one of the local buses north to Santa Anita, about 5 miles. The local buses come by about every ten minutes and Santa Anita is the last stop on the local route. You can buy cold beer at the little store, while you wait for the bus to get there. Normal wait will be 30 minutes to an hour. A $25.00 bus ride will take you to the new barrel fountain at the intersection of the main street and the highway in LB. From there you have about a mile walk down to the beach.

Killer guys. Thank you for the advice.
If anyone is going to be heading to SJD on the 13th around 3pm, I'd love to rideshare, or I'll try out this bus thing and let you all know how it goes. Appreciate the advice on times and frequency.
I've posted a map for others to check out of where you need to go from the airport to the bus stop as best I remember from the people I've seen walking in the past. You'll appreciate the map through customs in the airport terminal, too. Its a bit of a walk to the bus stop, although I've heard you can pay local taxi guys to take you for about $10. Otherwise its about a mile. I'll post again once this works, or doesn't work.
Thanks again!

For the last several months, Ecobajatours (part of the ABC bus company) has been operating a shuttle van from the LB bus station to SJD Airport - Terminal 1 and to La Paz. They go 3 times daily. Tickets can be purchased at the LB bus station. One way trip to SJD Airport is $165 pesos. The van is an 8 seater, brand new, and does not stop along the way.
