14km down-winder from the inland sea in front of http://windyaddiction.com/ at Iterema, Brazil. The wind just never let's up here. I arrived at midnight last Friday and it's been either a 6M or 9M big decision 24/7. All good people die and go to heaven some day. Pinch me, I'm dreaming this:

Looks amazing. I was down there a few years back, everything was different down there (sunrise where the sun normally sets, toilets swirling backwards, PORK in the popcorn) but I want to go back. Your post has me wanting to go now!

The travel here was hell, or maybe purgatory. From doorstep to doorstep it was about 32 hours. Left for the airport in Seattle around 8AM, hit my bed here in Brazil a full day plus 12 hours later at midnight Brazil time. But the payoff is immediate and fulfilling. Many days of 6 meter kiting in flat bathwater. The "light" day is a 9meter day.
Advice section: Take plenty of "Airborne" or wear a gas mask on the Dallas to Sao Paulo 11 hour leg. I had just a hint of a previous cold, and this 11 hour blew that into full blown bronchitis. Just now getting well.
But the funny part is, I feel perfectly healthy during my 5-6 hours of kiting every day.

Jericoacoara is a must-see scene for any Brazil traveler. 2 hours on a dune buggy to get to this cool beach town surrounded by sand dunes. A thousand people climb the largest dune to drink and watch the sunset, then the partying begins.

Good setup for access and lodging at reasonable pricing here at Ilha du Guajira windyaddiction. The inland sea here is a sweet place with the strongest winds and perfect waters.

Paid a local pescadero to take a few of us up to a "secret spot" of flat water. Smooth 9m and perfect butter. Excuse the crappy pictures, I'm not Lenten (in this lifetime)

Hey Kipper!

Hows mexico and the misses treating you?
Hope all is well in "MargaritaVille", you should remember that song, lol.

Here all is good. Been damn windy, over 30knots yesterday, 5 M weather!!!
Today is windy too, but less.

Most all other pousadas are closed, all other foreigners have left...kinda sad to have this whole lagoon all to myself. Soon soon Rio will be joining me.
Now he says "papi" and/or "kite" interchangabley when he sees kites, lol.

Lots of things have settled down around here. We had a great season and wanted to thank everyone who came out to see us this year.
Please Devon and Colleen we say hi.

We are getting ready for carnival, it will be very busy here 3rd of Feb.

Anyways, just wanted to say Paz, RIo and I miss you.

Take care, happy winds, hope to see you soon!
