10mtr. RPM and a ton of beach today. The light and blue sky were just beautiful. The fall is just beautiful here in the gorge.

Happy October Kiting,

Please bare with me as I have not been to rowena before. Do you park of rowena river drive past the houses or are you back towards the Dalles of 84 somewhere(close to the secret spot) Looks like a great place with all that beach right now. What is an accurate gauge for the Rowena spot? thanks Blake

Rowena - go to the state park. Take the Rowena exit and follow the signs east to the park.
Rowena does not have a beach like this.
It's an advanced site with grass and rock.

I'm guessing it's the beach that shall not be named in a town named for a country singer who loves-it.

If this is not Rowena then please where is it. no that is not Lyle as the sandbar there is perpendicular to the river and the sandbar in the pic is not perpendicular. Is is possible at low water times like this a beach appears at Rowena. If not where is this pic taken? thanks again

That is across the river from Dougs. To anyone who thought that was Lyle, I want to try what you are smoking.

It's very important to know that access to this spot is limited to only those who are willing to hike a bit.

If you would like to know where it is I accept paypal...

It's not Mosier, Lyle, Rowena or anywhere near it.

It's about a mile from there and here and close to somewhere.

Find your special spot in October and then post a disguised picture.

Very Happy

If the hobos can find it, I'm sure anyone can. 3 miles east of Rowena, directly across from Dougs. Actually, paddle boarding down there from Rowena on a calm day is super sweet. You get to explore some of the homesteads and farms that were flooded when the damn was built, only 5 feet down so you see some pretty cool stuff.

I thought I was the biggest kook. The Captain of the kooks in fact. I can't have him usurp my position!
