I'm only about a year into kiting. I'm at the Sand Bar yesterday, going out for a second time on a 2008 15 meter Naish Cult. As I get up and dive the kite for a second time to keep going, the bar basically explodes in my hands. Safety line held the kite and it just droped. Fortunately able to walk in. Bar broke near the middle. I had purchased used, but have had many sessions on it this year and have not dropped or damaged the bar that I can recall. Didn't know if this just happens, or just a one time deal.

Pretty rare. I've heard of it happening, but never seen it myself. Call Naish and see if you can get a replacement for just the bar (sans all lines and hardware), then move all the hardware & lines over to the new bar. That should be a lot cheaper than buying a new, complete bar.

Thanks for the advice and big thanks to Nick at Naish, taken care of! Excellent service!

Get out and catch the easterlies, had an hour and a half windsurfing session prior to work today on a 3.7 at Rooster. Not quite good enough to kite that madness yet, an no one else was there! Very Happy

I came at 10.30 and sailed till 4.30 on a 3.0. Certainly I am not ready to kite in these conditions yet.
