When the water level is just right, "Snatch Patch" is what's going down.

Perhaps it could be called "South Beach"? Similar to "'gaybar", just toned down.

That's easy - it should be called "Tomahawk Sandbar" It is kind of shaped like the head of a tomahawk and we all know that it is "tomahawk" central in the busy season..........

"Put a Bird on it", and call it....................................

Hoodlandia

Wait a minute...BREAKING NEWS..... the Cable News networks are reporting that......OMG!..... the naming committee has already approved a pre-selected name, and the beach will be named after the Mayor's brother-in-law, 'Sandy'...

That's just not right!

How about if the new name is determined by the highest bidder? I like the ring of 'Google' beach...'Mountain Dew'... 'Red Bull'...'Insitu'...And as a plus, with the million dollars, Hood River could put in more parking meters. Win-win situation.

Of course, it could be named after the activity that goes on down there...name it "Hucker Puddle", after the guys that 'huck the puddle' going over the little sand bar from the 'kiddy pool' into the Columbia River. Plus, you could never get that name confused with any other local name. ( I had the cable news networks fact checkers check on that, and their guys, Curley, Larry and Mo, assured me of that).

Then again, drawing on a "theme" category name, like 'historical', or "In Memoriam"...yeah, for example, illustrating the "In Memoriam" category, where you name something after something that has passed away, in order to honor it....the beach could be called "Windsurfer Beach"......Zinggggggg! I kid, I kid... because I love!

Or we could just wait a couple of years... and call it "The Event Center"
