I was going to wait to put this footage in to a bigger video later but after going through it a bunch of times I decided that the way it was shot wont flow with how I plan to do the rest of the video so here's your BOTG 2011 video edit.

Very cool. Slo-mo and time lapse was awesome. Love the cut of grom reaching out of the crash with his bandaged hands trying to get the bar. There was some really awesome riding by all the riders that day.

Hey Tony yeah that was Twixtor Pro for the 5% realtime super slow stuff. All of the 1/2 speed slowmotion I just set the playback in vegas to 1/2 speed so it was effectively 60i played back at 30i and then resampled as 30p when it was rendered. This works okay but twixtor would have been a little smoother I just didn't have the patience to render that much more slowmo. haha

Everything with the exception of the timelapse at the end, was shot in 1080@60i on a Canon HF100. The timelapse was a Gopro HD in 720@60p mode(1080 mode would have been a better choice for timelapse). 60i works a lot better then 30p for twixtor if you have a camera that will shoot either one. My camera has the option to film in either one so I have it set to 60i

If you have a camera that will shoot 60p that's even better but be prepared for long render times.

I just got a ContourHD which will shoot 720@60p with a 135deg viewing angle (as opposed to 170deg on a gopro) So I'm going to play with doing some slow mo chase cam shots from a kite aimed forward chasing another rider if it turns out good you'll likely see some of it in my next vid. Smile
