Been in east coast exile for the past two years but will be in the hood next week. I had only been kiting for about a year when I moved away, so I don't remember when things shift. Are easterlies the best bet at this point? And how does the coast do this time of year? Will have surfboard and tt with me.
Thanks,
Aaron

You may need to kite in East wind.

Here is a thread discussing the issues involved:

I've kited at Rooster a bunch. That will be a lot like kiting near Province Town here on Cape Cod, except that once you're in the water you're safe at Rooster. Last week I came face to fin with whitey near Provincetown.

Not a big deal although I did pretty much crap my wetsuit anyway. I've heard of a few sightings on the outer cape by kiters lately. They're always there this time of year, whether we see them or not. I live on the bay side so it only comes into play for me when I head to the ocean-side beaches.

Bridel Veil pinpoint Noaa forecast:

Wednesday: Partly sunny, then gradually becoming sunny, with a high near 72. Breezy, with a east wind 5 to 8 mph increasing to between 19 and 22 mph. Winds could gust as high as 33 mph.

The Rooster Rock Whitey probably will be out in force. . .stay away from the bushes and trails in the willows.
