I saw the sticky on the forum that the marina is open to launch from so I went there today. When I got there there was a small A-frame sign propped up against the notice board that said no kite boarding from that location.
Does that sign need to be removed now?
Also the Hood River water is cold. The shallow area the sliders are in that the HR spills into is noticeably colder than the channel water.

Hi Youkai :
You read the sign correctly, in that the beach section in front of the parking area is off limits for launching/landing.
The agreement with the Port is that the kite community has the eastern beach section (by the restrooms) as our pumping and drying area. The outer northern section of beach along the waters edge (away from the recreational beach users) is the location for launching and landing.

Looks like things are turning for you. Your observation, albeit very obvious, was RIGHT.
Glad you got a session in today!
