Apologize for the post if this has been covered before. I tried the search engine but I keep getting a debug error. Looking for advanced lessons or supervised downwinder near Reno in September, preferrably with jetski or boat assist. Any leads appreciated. Google showed one but they appear to be out of business. I grew up in Reno and lived in Tahoe for about 15 years. The best/closest bet is to go to Sherman island outside of Sacremento. Washoe lake can go as well as Tahoe but they are both inconsistent and unreliable. All of us that kited and windsurfed in the area would usually make the 2hr drive to get some of the steadiest wind in the U.S. Sandy and Donny of Kiteopia are always good as is Nat. Good luck and tell everyone Micah says Hey.

Washoe is my normal spot. The conditions have been very unreliable this season, but it might be ok for a downwinder or lesson. A guy named Mike Lee sometimes gives lessons out at Washoe. His company is called Eastern Sierra Guiding. Mike used to give lessons with Action Sports Maui before he moved to Reno.
