I have seen John Perry show up year after year. His Mom used to drive him up from Southern Oregon. It seemed like every year John would have some sort of gear issues. His chicken loop would blow, his leash would break, his bladders would explode. Everytime he would come out of the water with a huge smile and was stoked to be here.
This year John shows up and throws down a stellar preliminary heat and advances then the in the finals his leash blows so he comes in and gets a loaner. He misses his pass and his kite blows downwind. He recovers the kite and wins the competition. If you see John on the beach or in town give him a pat on the back. He has worked hard to earn this.

Great Job Bolstad Clan For a Weekend of pure fun!
Tony & Carol you guys really came thru and everyone loved it.
Shane Announcing was really freakin' good.
The Steve Blanco factor was super strong; camped out on the truck
(for 3 days) to make sure all the goodies were still there in the morning,
Congrats to the riders, thanks to the photogs, and the spectators, and
also Theo, we know you would have been there, we're thinking of you.
We're all hopeful for a quick and strong recovery.
Nice way to picture it stringy!

I was there on Friday but I had to leave before things got started and I wasn't able to make it back for the weekend. Were there videos posted anywhere of some of the winner's tricks or could someone tell me what kinds of tricks were scoring well in the men's and/or pro divisions?
