Hello Kite enthusiasts. I have only two formal lessons behind my harness. I am a forty five year old dad looking forward to become a responsible kite boarder. Is there anyone out there that can take me under their kite wing? Is there anyone else out there also looking to get into the sport that would like to learn with me? Is there a beginners club I can join? I am an avid motocross rider, downhill tree skier, and boater. Thanks for looking. Sam.

If you also like long moonlit walks under the stars and friendly conversations devoid of cynicism and angst--PM proxymonkey.

Bite the bullet and take more lessons. You'll progress 10 times faster with proper instruction and jet ski support.
I have athletic friends (40 something males) who took 3 summers to learn on their own.
Take lessons and you'll you'll be ripping in no time.
If you're serious.... take a week long trip and take at least 3 days of lessons in SPI, Hatteras, or LaVantana.

I know how you are feeling lookin for someone to ride with, I just started this year and have found it is best to just bite the bullet. Come on out to our local spots and introduce yourself and it will become easier every time.

I also recommend lessons, I took mine from Nate (air-pirate) and he does an amazing job and Jones beach is a great place for beginners!

Hope to see you out there!
