Sat Aug 13, 11 4:04 pm Liquid Force Bar Length and Kite Size Questions |
|
|
I currently have a 50 cm bar for my 10 M Envy. I was wondering if this bar would work well with the 12 M and 15 M or if it was would be best to get the 55 CM as part of a complete package?. Do the flying characteristics change drastically with 5 cm longer bar?
Any help with this would be great....
THanks,

Hi Matt :
The 10 and 12 will work great with the 50cm bar, but the 15 will definitely want the 55cm bar unless you like to ride wakestyle and are not concerned with turning capability for the kite.
Sometimes people will ride with a bit smaller bar, sacrificing turning capability to allow for minimal simplicity in your gear quiver, but due to the 2010 Envy kites being designed to be more for 'Park n Play' using a smaller bar will make the 15 very slow with it's turning. _________________ Pure Stoke Sports

I had a similar question about Cabrinha kites but I wanted to use my 9m 48cm bar on a 7m 43cm bar. One of the guys at Big Winds said it shouldn't be a big deal (at least in my situation). Basically if you use a longer bar on a smaller kit it will turn faster. If you use a shorter bar on a bigger kit it will turn slower. _________________ Steve

Would the 50cm bar be too large for the 7m? Last question. Thanks again. |
