Anyone know what is the best gauge to predict wind for this area?

Ikite surf has a reading for Astoria or Columbial River. Which is best?

Any other sites to access for this information?

If you figure it out let us know.

About the only slam dunk is if all forecasts are calling for N to NW 15-20 or better from Disappointment to Arago. After that pull out your genie bottle. This close to the river there are too many variables. I don't know how many times I've seen it blow hard at the jetty and nothing at all at the shipwreck and hard at Gearhart and nothing at Sunset and visa versa versa visa. You can drive and drive and chase and chase and... it goes on and on.

Best bet is to stay at lease a week and I can basically guarantee 3 out of 5 probably better but you need to throw Manzo into the mix as an option, oh and a surfboard. And a lot of beer.
