Mon Aug 08, 11 8:38 pm skim suggestion |

Just wrapped up what turned out to be a mostly light wind floras trip. having a skim would have fuhsho added some sesh time vs drinking a lot of beer and talking about how cool we used to be. any skim suggestions?
dimensions are 6ft 190 if it matters. can ride surfboard strapless pretty good if that makes a difference. |

The other day I took out the Airush "Surf Skim" demo board from Second Wind.
It was really light, but it was seriously fun in the flat water ponds around the hood river sandbar.
It's fast but playful. I could rail it upwind, slash transitions, and I even stuck a pop shuvit (after beating up my shins a bit)
The nicest thing about it is the full deckpad with curved edges. It really helps you feel where the edge of the board is.
I also tried the Liquid Force twin skim from second wind, but it rode too much like a twintip to really feel like a new experience.

I have a Phase 5 prop that I can't ride due to an injury, and would sell for a couple hundred if interested. I purchased it with the advice from John Modica on losethestraps.com, who suggested it as a great 10-30 type board.
Wish I could ride it. |

the morphius rules because it has enough rocker to ride waves/chop.
I actually found this website which still has some Roush skims still available in their for sale section:

I bought the soft top loaf as my second skim and I almost like it better than my morphius - not as much rocker, but the added weight and width make it easier to pop-shove it.
brian where have you been riding? |

I have the Roush Aloha Loaf which is a morpheus shape with the option of a small quad fin set up. I know fins are cheating for a hard core skim guy but it makes the board really fun in chop and small waves. Its thicker than a typical skim but still easy to grab etc.
