NICE!

Looks like Patrick was ripping that same supposed "secret spot" that is totally visible to anyone driving along HWY 101 in Oregon.

What is with the trick sliding harness non-hook attachment on IA's setup at 54 seconds? I have never seen that before, but it looks like it could be an improvement in the design for upper body rotation being less restricted.

I don't know but I want it! I used to have a harness where the bar could travel back and forth...since then I try to wear rashies under the harness so the whole thing slides, but that doesn't work nearly as well.

Thats no special deal, its pretty ovious, he broke his hook and put a rope on to save some sesion time, ians not a gear head, and when shit breaks he goes home. There are sliding hooks on the market, ??? seems kinda hooky to me, but I am afrade it would pinch my fattness,, though come on is it really going to make a differance?? some gear junkies got too have it all, it would, but how offten do they ride,? I know Ian thats a quick fix!!

Might be a Dynabar set up. They are pretty sweet. I'm not to into gimmicks either bu the Dynabar system looks pretty interesting. They have 3 different models, Race, Wave, and Freestyle. The wave is the only one that interests me really. I don't represent them in any way but I have seen them. I think they cost about $120-130?

contact the guy who made his extruded metal "hula-hoop" harness that allows the hook to spin all the way around his body. maybe he will sell you one!

i'm still using an old dakine pyro harness with the webbing strap and a narrow spreader bar. plenty of slide. but can still unhook if desired.

I think a lot of the earlier spreader bars slid back and forth on a threaded mesh strap. Somewhere along the line, folks decided they wanted it fixed in place.

This is no gimmick. Riders like to un-hook when riding waves so they can have more freedom of movement like a surfer, and really rotate their bodies around.

I see a lot of advantages of staying hooked in, if you can get nearly the same level of movement. A sliding hook with a long trim throw gets you pretty close.

Snow kiters who ski use the webbing to a carabener to chicken loop so they get a better angle due to always facing forward with skis.

Tye two bowlin knots to your spreader bar webbing points. These are the two farthest points on the harness that can take load, and will appear as such. Adjust these for a comfortable throw away from the body that will allow movement. It works super well, and the best thing is you are permanently attached to the kite:)
