I'm a Bay Area Kiter.... but headed to the Gorge or Oregon Coast for ten days next week. Where is that beach? So Sick! If the Gorge isn't "On" its going to be a wind hunt on the Coast. STOKED!

I'd be in for a downwinder anywhere on the N. Coast thurs. or Friday afternoon if anybody wants to combine forces. I'll be leaving from Hillsboro and can meet up any time after noon. PM me if you want to go!

i don't think that is in Oregon is it? if it is, i would surely like to know as well but, imagine those locals would be mighty upset.

Dude, that place is the worst kiting anyway. Best windsurfing in North America when it is on, but see that island? Devil wind that will break your lines, or launch and slam you so hard that you wish they would have broken. Luckily the best kiting in North America is 10 miles away with no one ever on it. Easy to find, go look.
And that was a loc that posted that pic, go figure.

It is very true that the Pistol River area is notoriously windy, unpleasant survival kiting at times and well suited to windsurfing equipment. It is also true that excellent kiting can be had at the south jetty in Gold Beach.....

I figured it all out! It's in Oregon and it's named after a shrub. Good luck!!
