Our legal system is getting worse and worse. Too many instructions to the Jury. It's become a game where the system is more important than Justice. Don't get me wrong, I believe in the rights of the accused. But the purpose of the Jury is to bring common sense to the proceedings. There is a reason that it's a "Jury of your peers" and not a jury of lawyers or judges. That purpose has been corrupted over the year, IMHO.
Don't even get me started on our liability laws.

Just saw a story on Primetime where Casee lawyer stated that Caylee died by drowning in the family pool and her dad actually disposed of the body. Sounds sketchy but she told her lawyer that is what happened.

Yeah, she had a bunch of different stories she told. Caylee was with a nanny. Caylee was in another State. Then Caylee drowned. Two days after she admits she or whoever disposes of the body, she gets a "Beautiful Life" tattoo. She got away with murdering her child because the Jury was so screwed up by the instructions juries get these days, that they lost track of the difference between "reasonable doubt" and "all doubt".
At least one member of the Jury admits they were in tears and sick to their stomachs that they acquitted her. They damn well knew this bitch was guilty, but for some reason didn't feel enough was there to convict her. Jury instruction has gotten to the point where justice isn't even a consideration anymore. Only the game that lawyers play in the courtroom matter.
I agree that every individual has a right to a vigorous defense. I don't agree with the litany of conditions and instructions given to the Jury. Jury instructions were meant to be simple. "Go into that room and decide between the 12 of you if the prosecution has proven beyond a reasonable doubt that the defendant is guilty. If you decide so, return with a guilty verdict. If not, you must acquit." There is a reason the founding fathers chose the jury system. It's not because they felt Justice should be merely a lawyers game.
