On Sunday I watched Bob launch and land over 100 kites at the Marina beach.
He took initiative to keep the launch and landing zone free of kites, boards, and lines. He preached the concept of keeping the beach clear for launching and landing.
Thank you Bob for all your help to make the Marina launch work (aka Bob's Beach Hood River).
"Hey, how you doing? Good Session? Now get your board and kite off my beach!"

considering the traffic with this being one of the tightest spots for launches accompanied with the race activities, boarder bob did an outstanding job keeping the beach clear and safe for everyone else. nice work on sunday!
thanks, stringy

He's not called "Boarding" Bob by coincidence!

There is a little history here that I think you all should know. Bob has come to CGKA meetings and spoke as a member with passion about Marina Beach being used for kite launching. When he talked about the topic you could see in his eyes how strongly he felt about the feasibility of kiting from the Marina Beach. It is too bad that there are not too many politicians that have fire Bob does.
I am happy to see him put the energy and sweat into making it a reality.
Next time you see Bob, give him a javascript:emoticon('Thumb's Up') or buy him a beer.

These words are spoken in truth.
Bob's definitely been one of the OG pied pipers touting the virtues of launching and landing at the Marina.

Bob sets a shining example of how to continue to ask politely with persistence, AND when change occurs, he steps up to the plate to help make sure the change succeeds by helping to make things work safely and well.

Good on ya Bob. Everyone should owe you a drink next time we see you at the bar or the beach.

Thanks Bob,

I was just down kiting Lake Mohave last week and what a contrast. Although they have great local kite crew, it's got to be one of the most disfunctional beaches for safe kiting. Sunday at the marina it was refreshing to see Gorge locals like Bob take charge and make it work for everyone else.
