The water is high, fast and cold - just like we like it! Perfect opportunity this year to drop the Hood River (class 3 section) from Tucker directly to Marina/Spit/Eventsite and then hop on a kite.

I see you former kayakers out kiting, with your funny life vests and kevlar helmets. Anyone interested on these double sessions let me know.

Looking for fellow weekend warriors who want to squeeze in a white water kayak session whenever wind drops below 20 knots.

Waters still high enough to keep the lower Hood River interesting. Plenty of big holes to throw yourself into. Dam/Fish ladder has been removed so no portgage necessary. There are several more challenging sections of the Hood River further up stream. But nothing beats coasting right up to the kite launch!

Hard to admit getting jealous of all the action you all are getting out there. Way to charge the doubles.

Might be possible with a whitewater boat and would be a nice workout. Those swells are moving at 10+ mph and the current is 3.5-5 at the White Salmon mouth. That surfski I'm paddling will do 9+ on the flats. It's made for ocean downwinding in much longer period swells, at 21' it's longer than a lot of the troughs and the rudder is out of the water half the time.

That is some kind of unique situation going on over there right now, won't last forever. The hatchery is garbage cross chop by comparison (shhhhhh!)
If you've got a 12'+ fast SUP, that can be a blast too, shoot me a PM if you're going>

More whitewater;

Apologies to you guys for running my surfski/sup perpendicular to the general flow of things out at the White Salmon river mouth. The current can't last too much longer, then I can get back to downwinders. On the plus side this is probably less obnoxious than having me in the lineup kiting too ;^)
