Sorry we missed it. We pulled into town on Sat and didn't catch it was moved to Sunday.

Looks like it was a good time.
I was definitely interested, but I had to work on Sunday and a wedding on Saturday. Unfortunately I don't know if I will be able to make any of the races this year.
I went out and bought a race board too. Well at least it will give me time to work on my tacks. I still have yet to complete one of those.

kirsten,
great job hosting the races. I felt it was well run with good communication from you and the committee boat director.
definitely need to be at the top of your game in those conditions. I came back in and check WOTW and confirmed the wind conditions I experienced. 13g40 during that second heat.
first time racing on my gear and was fine at the starting line, but as you got closer to the upper buoy, both chop and wind conditions made for a extremely challenging situation. would love to do it again, but maybe next time I'll try it on a surfboard in those conditions! haha

thanks Kirsten! good job putting it all together, and for holding your own on the race course! Great turnout too.
It was really cool to come down and race with you guys, see a few old friends and meet some new people. Good on everyone for holding on through those conditions. That was pretty gnarly, even by Gorge standards. I've never had to race in conditions like that before. cool challenge.

A big thank you to Cabrinha and Kirsten for putting on this event.
It was great to see so many kiters out doing the race course. And such a variety of boards and kites. Strapless, twintips, raceboards, surfboards, and even one of the local ripper groms using boots to race.
I guess it really did not matter what board or kite you were on because everyone was having FUN. In between the races, the whole pack was riding swells, doin airs, posing for Enrique's lens, and just enjoying the camaraderie of a large group kiting together.
Also, thanks to Darren and his crew for keeping us organized while hanging in the boat.

The event was awesome! Every race was a battle in the surf/twin devision. Can't wait for the next race!

for the OG class. Just need to figure out how to ride the daggers of death. Those things are hard to ride. Tried Cory's one night last week, wasn't pretty.

That was my first time racing and it was so much fun! I was in the surfboard/twin tip class and had some good battles with some of the other racers. Good to see how fast I really was compared to some of the other guys out there.
TO all those who want to give this a try, you should! It is a very fun and friendly crowd that are all there to have a good time! There is one last race of the season on Aug. 27, so come out and get some!
