What do you do with your old boards?
Athletes for Cancer invites artists to contribute to Boards of Hope, an art project fundraiser for Athletes for Cancer as part of Kiteboarding 4 Cancer and the 2011 Tenacity Games, fundraising for Athletes for Cancer's Adventure Survivorship Camps for Young Adults with Cancer.
Boards of Hope invites Northwest artists to transform recycled boards of all types into canvases for stunning works of art, based on the theme, Healing & Hope. Accepted boards include surfboards, kiteboards, skateboards, standup paddleboards and snowboards. Accepted artists and their boards will be featured and auctioned off at the Tenacity Games July 8-10, 2011. Artists receive press via Athletes for Cancer and the Tenacity Games online and offline marketing tools including a featured web page, post on the organization and event blog, facebook and twitter, and an artist feature poster at the event.
If you are interested in making a submission to Boards of Hope, email Tonia with a link to your website portfolio or up to 3 photos of some of your work. Artists must obtain their own recycled boards. If you can just contribute with donated BOARDS, that is great too!! Please email tonia (at) athletes4cancer.org.
All submissions are donations to Athletes for Cancer and will be auctioned off at Saturday's Live Auction for Athletes for Cancer's Survivorship Program for Young Adults with Cancer. We strongly encourage SURVIVOR ARTISTS to submit work!

To those of you asking if the boards are assumed to be ridden after being transformed into works of art, the answer is no. These are wall pieces, not riding pieces.
