CGKA - Sandbar Clean Up THANK YOU VOLUNTEERS!!

A very heartfelt THANK YOU to all the volunteers who joined us this morning at the Sandbar to help clean up and relocate wood and other hazardous debris.

We moved a lot of logs that I thought were surely stuck for good.

2 work trucks, 2 support vehicles, 3 chainsaws, a bunch of shovels and lots of teamwork resulted in a very clean western to northern perimeter of the sandbar launch area that we should be able to safely utilize.

As usual, mothernature is all powerful, so please be aware there are always logs and debris moving around in the water and relocating on the sandbar during and after highwater levels.
We are expecting a higher level of water than normal, so things will change, and it is important to always be aware when kiting off of the Sandbar.

RE: suggestions to utilize logs to build up bigger sections of sandbar.
We had discussed this in the past, but unfortunately it creates a liability situation and requires the endorsement of certain environment organizations to do.

Would have been nice to have some pics, but was too busy driving and loading.

...Just an observation about the clean up this year;
To have 3 shop owners/kite school owners hands-on and (and 4 wheel drivin') at the clean up was awesome. It speaks volumes about your commitment to the sport. A big thank you.

My only contribution was cleaning sand from my son's ears (after he placed fist fulls in-there) once the chain sawin' started.

It was the super beefy one with the sewn loop on both ends.
