Hey guys,

I thought i'd ask this here since kitescoop is sponsored by hateraid and you guys are more legit than the bay. I am trying to keep my elbows and in locked when going for it- but then how would you extend your body, say for a railey or for the railey in an S-bend?

I see how for other rolls/passes like a back mobe/kgb/slim/frontmobe etc keeping your elbows in at all times is a must.

Any other tips to landing stuff slacked? I baby my left shoulder since i've had surgery so I'm out on the dangley- stuff, no overhead hanging. If you guys have tips on how I can protect my shoulder when going for the pass, I'd love to hear it please. Right now i'm restricted to keeping the kite low-ish and trying to put my butt in the bar(yep I said it, haha).

thanks

Kevo

Yah ur lucky u didnt ask this on the scoop, cuz i seriously have no idea what ur talking about. As for not being able to dangle, I assure you staying hooked in and sending it will be a lot easier on your shoulder than anything unhooked...

I'm quite sure that if you unhook when your lit your elbows will naturally tend to straighten out as the kite wants to yank your arms out of their sockets.

Trying to pass AND putting a bunch of force on your shoulder? Those things don't generally go together.

As my wakeboarding friends taught me, stand up straight and hold the handle at your front hip (try to f* the bar). Once in the air, you can stretch out, then bring the bar back to your front hip for landing. For handle passes, try to do the pass with your hands at waist level and close to your body (practice on dry land). Keeping the bar in tight protects your shoulders and and looks way better.

Personally I would work on shoulder rehab for strength & flexibility before trying anything unhooked.

thanks scott,

that's pretty much what I wanted to learn. I'll attempt to put it in practice. My shoulder is straight - rehab and surgery have been a huge success. My only vulnerable position is about 90 deg abduction and full external rotation. Still working on feeling more comfortable there, but if I can avoid it I shouldn't have any issue.

thanks again all,

Kev
