Like to read but hate finding books. Always write down books to read on a gum wrapper than lose it. With the price of gas seems like e-books cheaper than going out to get one, and at times ordering. Don't mind reading on a screen. Don't mind not having a hard copy either. New Kindle coming out May 3 for $114.

Any Kindle users out there with an opinion?

Thanks,
Eric

Ive read a couple of books on one before. I like them. I guess there's an option to get one for $20 cheaper but you get ads with it. If I read more I'd probably get one

I love mine. I read all the time and take it everywhere with me. I bought the one that is the step up. It has a connection to the "amazon whisper network" meaning you can download a book anywhere without connecting to wifi.

Even cooler, they have added a web browser in the experimental portion of the home menu....meaning I can now check email or the news or whatever via my Kindle from anywhere in the modern world for free...and without a wifi connection.

Well worth the $.

Saw a guy driving a convertible Miata reading a Kindle during the morning commute.

Effin' Smart is all I can say.

Looked like this moron found on Google images.

I could be wrong but I am pretty sure that with the Kindle you can only buy from amazon, which kind of sucks. But with a Nook for instance you can purchase books from anywhere and even rent books from the library which I was told you can not do with the Kindle...

I have been looking at the Kindle for the purpose of getting Library eBooks. If you plan on reading while waiting for wind at the beach, the Kindle is better than the Nook.

I would be curious about the iPad (Mark?) in the sunlight, although I'd rather get another board or used kite for the cost of an iPad.

i got a kindle for christmas and I love it. Taking a kindle on a trip instead of 5 books is great. You can read it very easily in sunlight. I also like the fact that you can download books anywhere.

The Ipad glass does have some glare and is not that great in direct sunlight. However it does tons of other things.

Ps Sunlight is for kiting!

I love my kindle. Only complaint is sometimes new books don't get sold in ebook format. If you're willing to take 5 minutes, u can usually download it for free of a torrent site though.
