I'm in Central Wash always looking for others to sled with for some BC Shreddin. Been wanting to hit Adams and Helens before seasons end.
Never been to either but have rode NW Wash extensively over the years. So when the weather looks EPIC lets hit it!

I'm down Steve. Just need a heads up since I've already stored the sled in my grandparents garage and will need to go and load it the night before. I live in Portland so Helens is probably closer but I'm open minded. Anyone else interested?

So when the weather looks good for 2 plus days lets plan. I would have to drive over the night before and get me a motel in Cougar.
Adams can wait till May as I would just stay in HR and kite too. I wonder if there is cabin rentals near Cougar.

Sledding today near Mt Hood was retarded .......IMO, St Helens is such a love/hate situation. If you nailed good conditions it's one of the most amazing places to kite anywhere.

Recently Aaron and I were up there, one of the most important things is an early start. Getting to Marblemont snowpark at 10:30am ( Drove from HR) is way to late. Getting a room in Cougar the night before is a great call or just car camp up there as well ( Don't forget your climbers permit, you'll need it if you climb with a kite)
Next, everyone needs their own Mtn sled, IMO way to far to tow or peggyback.
Third, don't force the weather, its just to vast of a place to kite in stormy weather.
Tell third party your exact destination...you never know.
Know current Avi forecast and evaluate the Avi conditions in kiting zone. (crazy exposure up there)
E, SE winds are most ideal, SW works, not sure on other directions.

I can't wait to hit it again. Friday looks doable, wind is a crapshoot thou...

Hey Brad, where you sledding at? I'm not working yet so if you want an extra riding buddy gimme a shout. Would love to test out the riding around here a couple times before the season ends. Will be up for riding next week onwards.

Friday is looking good but I'm not ready enough for that. It would be good to have 4 plus sleds to trek in on an excursion.
I may just hit Gold Creek off of I-90 for some downhill this weekend.

I worked at Moses Lake for a year and taught myself how not to kiteboard there. I may be going back but cant recall how many days of rideable wind there is.

Absolutely perfect day on Mt. Adams today and there was kiteable wind as well. There were a few times where I was pissed that I didn't have any kites in tow. However, the reality of snowkiting on Adams would take serious effort. From Snowking sno park your looking at approx 12 miles of whoopdeedoos up to treeline, from there is multiple options depending on wind direction. I think the sickest thing ever would be to Kite out of Hell roaring canyon on southeast wind right up the SE face. To accomplish such a feat, you would need to have advance snowmobile skills (aka...be a slednecker) lucky wind day, and big balloons!

Nice pics Brad. There is a guy out of Portland on Snowest username Dre who rips Adams and Helens over the years.
I also heard on BCR that grooming is still being done on Helens. My username is Sled2Shred on both of those forums.

I heard my old stompin grounds Baker had 3 to 4 feet of fresh yesterday with blue skies.
The Baker shootout is this weekend tho and its heavily attended.
