Is it just me, but I could beat this record.

he surfed a wave created by a boat moving through the Panama Canal for 3 hours, 55 minutes and two seconds, while spanning a distance of 41.3 miles.

Anyone got a boat? Very Happy

Kinda lame. He can't really do anything for fear of losing the wake so basically he stood there and balanced for 4 hours at the expense of a crapton of gas. Those boats go through a crazy amount of gas when they are all ballasted up for wakesurfing.

I'm more impressed with the guy that surfed waves for over a day in California. Wasn't that on here a while ago?

who had the record? the guy surfing? or was it a record for the people in the boat that could actually watch it for three hours with out throwing something at the guy. Wake surfing is a lot of fun, but not if you are just standing there not trying anything.

Agreed but if you try stuff you risk losing the wake so I'm guessing he didn't.

Only good thing about this video is Enonitos Verdes. Simultaneous world record set for cameraman staying awake longest to film boring surf video.

I officially challenge you to go dam to dam (bonneville to the dalles) on a no wind day wake surfing. I doubt you'd make it past stevenson. being able to pump a wave for that long is impressive

So is watching paint dry. It really doesn't make it any less lame.

It's not that hard to do. "Back in the day" we would drive two tourney boats side by side and surf the wake in-between. You start with a handle, then drop it. Kinda fun....for about 15 minutes. This is before bladders & towers were invented for boats. We use to bring lead weights to create the "perfect" wave. We did it at Crescent Bar because you had a long straight shot.

This where we use to hang out for a waterski/wakeboard adventure. Pretty fun. Great place to stay if you are seeing a concert at Gorge-George.
